Riad Due is the most contemporary of all our riads with a hip, not-too-serious vibe. Oatmeal hued tadelakt and tiles provide a clean backdrop to the kitsch, quirky creations of local artisans. Soaring columns, a courtyard plunge-pool and lush tropical plants give it just enough edgy style for “coolhunters”, while four high-personality rooms keep it intimate. The retro roof-terrace with clear views to the Atlas make it the ultimate spot for a sundowner.

2 x 160cm x 200cm twin beds beneath grotto-like stucco ceiling, real fireplace and soft Berber kitsch rag-rugs in pastel brights

The neighbourhood

Tucked away in the Riad Laarousse section of the medina this is a popular meeting place for locals out buying fresh fruit and vegetables from the market, or simply shopping for traditional cookware and djellabas. If you’re looking for a non-touristy base in Marrakech, this is it.

A hop, skip and a jump from the riad, check out the groovy, recycled sardine can lanterns, butter-soft leather ballet pumps and other contemporary curios at Michi; fuel up on real Italian espresso at the Riad Café Arabe, and stock up on hand-made soaps and body lotions for bathtime pleasure at the L’Art du Bain. Dar Zellij for some of the finest traditional cooking in town in one of the oldest riad in Marrakech.
